Michael Sinclair-Smith was born in 1938 in
Kent. He was brought up in the English countryside where he developed a passion
for horse. He left England in 1965 and moved to Canada, where for a year, he was
a huntsman to a pack of hounds in Ontario. From there he moved to Montreal where
he set up his own recruiting firm, became an amateur whipper-in and subsequently
re-introduced polo to Montreal. He has hunted through out America and for
fifteen seasons he organized and led hunting trips to Ireland. He played polo in
Jamaica, The Dominican Republic, Argentina and the USA. He has four children and
lives on his horse farm in St Polycarpe, Quebec.
Foxhunting In England, Ireland and North America.
This
is a wonderful and revealing autobiography of an English country childhood,
the decision to enter hunt service, and the author's experiences as he worked
his way through an intensely hierarchical apprenticeship system that has
changes little over the centuries.
Hounds and Hunting Through The Ages

through the Ages remains the definitive volume for the foxhunter of all
skill levels. This primer of foxhunting covers all aspects of the sport
including the history and traditions, attributes of proper hounds,
peculiarities of scent, and the chase in general.
Lost Hounds: And Other Hunting Stories
Lost Hound is the first contemporary collection of foxhunting stories to be published in 50 years! Ashcom has a flair for creating vivid images with powerful language and
making the reader feel that they are part of the hunt. The stories are
brilliantly illustrated by well-known sporting artist Jane Gaston. This is
the first title offered in The Derrydale Press Foxhunters' Library.
