Misty's Story

Misty Bosarge is a talented young rider who began riding Arabians at the age of 10. She was introduced to dressage at age 14 while riding at Miracle Meadows Equestrian Center in Jacksonville, NC. Misty first discovered her joy for Dressage with her Arabian gelding, Maagic Zarose, "Hobby". In the last two years, she has brought Hobby to strong First Level work. They have scored in the high 60's and 70's at Arabian shows as well as USDF/USAE shows. In 2001 they won the Gelding Champion, Dressage Reserve Champion and Youth Champion at the Crabbet Horse Show. Misty was also Training Level Champion at March Magic Dressage Show in 2002, a USDF/NCDCTA/USAE sanctioned show, as well as winning several high point awards at both Arabian and local open shows. Unfortunately, Hobby has a degenerative joint disease which will likely prevent him from competing past first level.

This fall, Misty will have the opportunity to show one of our Canamer Stable horses, Great Expectations. She is presently working at First level with him. We are hoping that they will be able to advance to Young Riders in the next few years.

Misty is bringing on a youngster - Amyr My Rissalix. In one short year, Misty has correctly started Riss and has brought him through showing at the Introductory Level to teaching him leg yields, shoulder in and haunches in. We can expect to see Misty in the show ring with Riss this fall at Training Level and on up from there.

Misty is in her Junior Year of High School. Her father is very supportive of her aspirations in both riding and education. Three years ago, her father underwent a Liver Transplant which has led Misty with a desire to purse a career as a Surgeon. She intends to continue Riding Career and is looking forward to adding to her achievements this fall.
